We offer advanced standing, honors and AP classes in English, science, math, Spanish, and social science. We balance our rigorous academic program with a selection of vocational programs, including: advanced computers, multimedia, culinary arts, law enforcement, and extreme responders.
CHS also offers a diverse fine arts program including band and Studio Arts. Our dramatic arts program offers students the opportunity to take part and perform in productions locally.
Our award-winning athletics program offers students the opportunity to be involved in football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, tennis, cross-country, and track and field. Our community-supported athletics programs focuses on promoting scholar-athletes, requiring students to succeed in class to participate.
Our program emphasizes helping students develop the academic skills necessary to continue their education after high school. Eighty percent of our students continue with post-secondary education. We meet the needs of our diverse population with college prep and readiness programs.
Research demonstrates that the development of a strong professional community among educators is a key ingredient in improving schools. Each Wednesday, CHS teachers work collaboratively using the professional learning community model. Faculty collectively examine student data to improve its our professional practices and meet the needs of our student population. We are proud to have achieved a l0 of 10 in similar schools ranking in the state testing and a six-year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Our school promotes a close-knit relationship between staff, parents, students and our community. We encourage parents to participate in committees, community unity day, clubs, and advisory groups such as English Language Advisory Council (ELAC). We also promote a welcoming campus, and encourage students to become involved in the community through our service learning program.
We encourage you to learn more about how CHS offers its students a world-class education with the benefits of a small-school atmosphere. Please feel free to contact the school office at (707) 894-1900 with any questions or for more information.
